PFD Acting Chief Honored at Paterson's Annual Puerto Rico Flag Raising Ceremony (Gallery)

At the Annual Puerto Rico Flag Raising Ceremony at Paterson City Hall on Saturday, Acting Chief Engineer of Paterson Fire Department Alejandro Alicea was honored as the First Acting Chief of the Department of Puerto Rican descent.

This was the 51st Anniversary of the event featuring multiple honorees and dignitaries including Congressman Bill Pascrell, Mayor Andre Sayegh, Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly, Commissioner Orlando Cruz, and Passaic County Clerk Danielle Ireland Imhof.

Hosted by Deputy Mayor of Commerce, Eli Burgos and Master of Ceremonies Eddie Gonzalez, the event was well attended and was a testament to the standing the Puerto Rican community has in the great city of Paterson.
